Wyoming County Republican Party Endorses Congressman Lee Zeldin for Governor

NEW YORK – Today, the Wyoming County Republican Party endorsed Congressman Lee Zeldin (R, NY-1) for Governor of New York State.

Over 50% is needed to become the endorsed Republican Party candidate for Governor.

About Lee Zeldin
Lee Zeldin was born and raised on Long Island. He grew up in Suffolk County and graduated from William Floyd High School in Mastic Beach, where his identical twin daughters attend school today. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the State University of New York at Albany and then his law degree from Albany Law School, becoming New York’s youngest attorney at the time at the age of 23.
Lee spent four years on Active Duty with the U.S. Army after completing ROTC and served in different capacities, including as a Military Intelligence Officer, Prosecutor, and Military Magistrate. In the summer of 2006, while assigned to the Army’s elite 82nd Airborne Division, Lee deployed to Iraq with an infantry battalion of fellow paratroopers in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
In 2007, Lee returned to Suffolk County with his family. It was at this time that Lee transitioned from Active Duty to the Army Reserve, where he currently serves with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.

In the State Senate, Lee successfully fought to repeal the MTA Payroll Tax for 80 percent of employers, a job killing tax that was hurting small businesses. Lee led the successful efforts to repeal the Saltwater Fishing License Fee and create the PFC Joseph Dwyer Program, a statewide program in New York to help our returning veterans cope with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). Lee also wrote the law that protects our fallen veterans and their families from protests at military burials.

Congressman Lee Zeldin Continues Seventh Campaign Trip Since Announcing His Bid for Governor

NEW YORK – On Saturday, May 29, 2021, Congressman Lee Zeldin (R, NY-1) joined New York State Assembly Minority Leader William Barclay for a breakfast in Oswego County where he heard from New Yorkers about how they need a new Governor, and an Albany that represents their interests, restoring a balance of political and geographic power.

After breakfast, Leader Barclay showed Congressman Zeldin the ropes at Douglaston Salmon Run in Pulaski.

Following Oswego County, Congressman Zeldin stopped in Watertown in Jefferson County to speak to local reporters about his vision for New York after which Congressman Zeldin stopped by Copenhagen in Lewis County to honor Civil War veterans this Memorial Day Weekend.

Congressman Zeldin finished the day in Canton in St. Lawrence County where he met with local leaders and residents.

Congressman Lee Zeldin Continues Seventh Campaign Trip Since Announcing His Bid for Governor

NEW YORK – On Wednesday, May 26, 2021, Congressman Lee Zeldin (R, NY-1) joined the New York State Conservative Party in Tappan, for a party fundraiser during his seventh statewide campaign trip since announcing his bid for Governor of New York.

On Thursday, May 27, 2021, Congressman Zeldin traveled to Batavia in Genesee County where he met with local leaders.

He also stopped by Dwyer Stadium in Batavia, home of the Batavia Muckdogs.

Congressman Zeldin continued onto Warsaw in Wyoming County where he met with local leaders, business owners, farmers, healthcare workers and other residents.

Congressman Zeldin ended the day in Buffalo in Erie County where he joined New York State Senator Ed Rath and supporters.

On Friday, May 28, 2021, after meeting with a sportsmen’s group in Niagara County, Congressman Zeldin met with the Orleans County Conservative Party and local residents to hear from them about how the policies coming out of Albany are adversely impacting their lives.

In the afternoon, Congressman Zeldin spoke to local leaders and residents in Rochester in Monroe County about their shared vision for the future of New York.

In the evening, Congressman Zeldin joined the Knights of Columbus Council #207 in Hoopes Park in Auburn in Cayuga County for Operation Enduring Gratitude, which raises money for Veteran Service Organizations by selling flags to be placed in their “Healing Field” that are displayed Memorial Day weekend. Congressman Zeldin then finished the day in East Syracuse in Onondaga County.

Congressman Lee Zeldin in Dutchess County Continuing Seventh Campaign Trip Since Announcing His Bid for Governor

NEW YORK – On Tuesday, May 25, 2021, Congressman Lee Zeldin (R, NY-1) was in Dutchess County continuing his seventh statewide campaign trip since announcing his bid for Governor of New York.

Congressman Zeldin started off the second day of his 8-day campaign swing throughout New York at the Rogers Point Boating Association in Hyde Park where Dutchess County Executive Marcus Molinaro endorsed Congressman Zeldin for Governor of New York. Congressman Zeldin also received the endorsements of Dutchess County Sheriff Adrian “Butch” Anderson and other local elected officials.

Congressman Zeldin and County Executive Molinaro then stopped by the Eveready Diner in Hyde Park to talk to employees and patrons about the issues most important to them.

Following the Eveready Diner, Congressman Zeldin and County Executive Molinaro spoke to the owner of Jim’s Auto Body and his employees about state policies and how we can create a business environment that encourages small businesses to grow and stay in New York.

Congressman Zeldin also stopped by the River Station House for lunch in Poughkeepsie where he provided an update from the campaign trail at the foot of the Mid-Hudson Bridge.

Lee Zeldin was born and raised on Long Island. He grew up in Suffolk County and graduated from William Floyd High School in Mastic Beach, where his identical twin daughters attend school today. Congressman Lee Zeldin Kicks Off Seventh Campaign Trip Since Announcing His Bid for Governor

NEW YORK – On Monday, May 24, 2021, Congressman Lee Zeldin (R, NY-1) kicked off his seventh statewide campaign trip since announcing his bid for Governor of New York.

Congressman Zeldin started off his 8-day trip throughout New York in New Windsor in Orange County at American Legion Post 1796 to talk to local veterans, first responders, sportsmen and other community leaders.

Congressman Zeldin then joined local elected officials, Orange County Republican Party and Conservative Party leaders, and local residents at Delancey’s in Goshen to discuss the issues most important to Orange County, such as the need to reverse New York’s cashless bail laws, revitalize Stewart Airport, provide balance in Albany and more.

Congressman Zeldin finished the day at the Orange County Emergency Services Center in Goshen with Orange County Executive Steve Neuhaus where he toured the Emergency Services Dispatch Center.
