NY Supreme Court Tosses Harry Wilson’s Frivolous Lawsuit Against Congressman Lee Zeldin

NEW YORK – Today, the New York Supreme Court tossed out Harry Wilson’s frivolous lawsuit against Congressman Lee Zeldin (R, NY-1), the Republican Party and Conservative Party designee for Governor, stating Harry Wilson’s lawsuit had “no basis in law or fact.”

“Two-time Obama advisor, Alvin Bragg donor, Never Trumper Harry Wilson knows he can’t win on his merits,” said Zeldin for New York spokesperson Katie Vincentz. “That’s why he’s trying everything he can – buying the election, cheating, lying and more – to try and recover from the absolutely abysmal poll numbers he’s getting back. Harry Wilson had to have known this lawsuit was frivolous, dishonest and purely political when he brought the case. The Board of Elections told Harry Wilson he was wrong, now the Supreme Court of New York told Harry Wilson he was wrong, and on June 28th, Republican Party Primary Voters are going to show Harry Wilson just how wrong he is at the ballot box.”

The judge’s ruling in this case reads in part, “In support of his argument that respondent Zeldin has utilized monies during the primary election in excess of, what he argues, are spending limitations imposed by NYS BOE, petitioner [Harry Wilson] has failed to provide any statutory authority or case law on point. This Court agrees with respondents, that no such spending limitation exist. As such, respondents’ motion to dismiss is granted, as petitioner has failed to set forth a sufficient cause of action for declaratory relief. The cause of action alleged by petitioner is not justiciable as it has no basis in law or fact.”

New York Post Endorses Congressman Lee Zeldin in GOP Primary

NEW YORK – Tonight, the New York Post Editorial Board endorsed Congressman Lee Zeldin (R, NY-1), the Republican Party and Conservative Party designee for Governor.

Congressman Zeldin said, “There are few things that are more quintessentially New York, nothing that better captures the pulse of New York and no one that has more iconic headlines and content than the New York Post. It’s an honor to have earned the support of its esteemed Editorial Board in this rescue mission to Save Our State.”

“Rep. Lee Zeldin is our pick,” the New York Post Editorial Board said. “Knowing how tough it would be to win in a state where Democrats badly outnumber Republicans, he jumped in early, and decisively, building support across the state and a solid war chest. His careful planning and hard work has him leading the polls for the June 28 primary (with early voting starting Saturday). It also displays a forethought and resolve needed to succeed as governor. Zeldin also impressed with his uncompromising passion in the first GOP debate.”

“The CBS2 GOP Primary debate for NY Governor is tomorrow at 7pm. I just learned that one of my 3 opponents will be participating virtually. All 4 of us must be on stage attending in person. The remote option is a nonstarter. Also, the reason to have him virtual is ridiculous.”

Zeldin for New York Releases New TV Ad “Bad Actors”

Watch the ad here.

NEW YORK – Today, Zeldin for New York released its latest ad “Bad Actors” now airing statewide, which is a seven figure TV, radio, and digital spend, communicating to Republican primary voters about Never Trumper Harry Wilson and Rolex Rob Astorino’s continued dishonest attacks lying about Congressman and Army veteran Lee Zeldin.

“While Congressman Zeldin has focused all of his energy on defeating Kathy Hochul, instead of joining the cause to defeat one-party rule in Albany, Never Trumper Harry Wilson and Rolex Rob Astorino have been assisting Kathy Hochul and Democrats in spreading desperate lies about Republicans’ best hope for victory in November – Congressman Lee Zeldin,” said Zeldin for New York spokesperson Katie Vincentz.

“It’s time New Yorkers know the truth. Never Trumper Harry Wilson is a two-time Obama appointee, and Alvin Bragg donor, who refused to vote for President Trump in 2020 and had a company policy to fire his employees who wouldn’t get the COVID shot. And New Yorkers are all too familiar with the fact Rolex Rob Astorino is on an embarrassing campaign losing streak, defeated by Democrats over and over and over again, losing his last three races for three separate elected positions.

“In stark contrast, Congressman Zeldin has won seven straight races in purple suburban swing districts, unseating two Democrat incumbents along the way. Whether it’s his record of cosponsoring the nation’s strongest property tax cap, which became law, reducing middle-income tax rates in New York to the lowest level in 60 years, standing against radical calls to defund, abolish and dismantle our police and so much more it’s clear why New Yorkers are all in Congressman Lee Zeldin. On Tuesday, June 28th, they’re going to elect Army veteran Lee Zeldin to be their fighter and deliver Kathy Hochul a crushing defeat in November.”

Congressman Zeldin Statement on San Francisco DA Recall Election

NEW YORK – Congressman Lee Zeldin (R, NY-1), the Republican Party and Conservative Party designee for Governor, issued the following statement after voters in San Francisco recalled District Attorney Chesa Boudin:

“Yesterday, Californians made their voice heard, and, in November, New Yorkers will too when they remove Kathy Hochul for, among many reasons, her refusal to fire pro-criminal Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg. New Yorkers are sick and tired of criminals ruling our streets, and they’re ready to end the attacks on our safety, repeal cashless bail, take back our streets and Save Our State.”

###

About Lee Zeldin

Lee Zeldin was born and raised on Long Island. He grew up in Suffolk County and graduated from William Floyd High School in Mastic Beach, where his identical twin daughters attend school today. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the State University of New York at Albany and then his law degree from Albany Law School, becoming New York’s youngest attorney at the time at the age of 23.

Lee spent four years on Active Duty with the U.S. Army after completing ROTC and served in different capacities, including as a Military Intelligence Officer, Prosecutor, and Military Magistrate. In the summer of 2006, while assigned to the Army’s elite 82nd Airborne Division, Lee deployed to Iraq with an infantry battalion of fellow paratroopers in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

In 2007, Lee returned to Suffolk County with his family. It was at this time that Lee transitioned from Active Duty to the Army Reserve, where he currently serves with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.

In 2008, Lee established a successful law practice in Smithtown, NY. Elected to the New York State Senate two years later, in 2010, Lee’s been working hard every day since to keep the promises he made to the hard-working families he represents.

In the State Senate, Lee:

  • Led the successful effort to repeal the MTA Payroll Tax for 80 percent of employers, a job killing tax that was hurting small businesses.

  • Cosponsored the nation’s strongest property tax cap, which became law.

  • Reduced middle-income tax rates in New York to the lowest level in 60 years.

  • Secured the repeal of the Saltwater Fishing License Fee.

  • Created the PFC Joseph Dwyer Veteran Peer Support Program to help our returning veterans cope with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI).

  • Authored the law to protect our fallen veterans and their families from protests at military burials.

Lee was then elected to the United States Congress in 2014, representing New York’s First Congressional District, and has now won seven consecutive races since 2010 in purple NYC suburban districts, unseating two Democrat incumbents along the way. In Congress, Lee quickly became a leading voice in America on top local, domestic and foreign policy issues:

  • Combating and defeating MS-13 on Long Island, leading the charge in New York and nationally against cashless bail, opposing all efforts to defund, dismantle or abolish police, and providing law enforcement the resources they need to fight gang violence and other crimes in our communities, including bulletproof vests.

  • Securing the repeal of many harmful, job killing regulations, with the Economic Growth, Regulatory Relief, and Consumer Protection Act, and many other initiatives, to improve our business climate and grow our economy.

  • Leading the charge to end all COVID mandates.

  • Saving Plum Island, by securing the repeal of a 2008 federal law requiring the island to be sold off to the highest bidder.

  • Delivering a $1.5 billion boost in border security resources, helping to choke off the flow of illegal migration across our borders.

  • Introducing and passing into law his Adult Day Health Care legislation for disabled veterans and opening a new health care clinic for East End veterans.

  • Delivering the Electron Ion Collider “discovery machine” to Brookhaven National Lab that will enable advancements in national security, medical and cancer research, astrophysics, and more and create an extensive number of jobs.

  • Advancing his law enforcement bill of rights, which would help ensure that our great law enforcement officers and the people they serve are protected.
