Erie County Conservative Party Endorses Congressman Lee Zeldin for Governor

PRESS RELEASE

NEW YORK – Today, the Erie County Conservative Party endorsed Congressman Lee Zeldin (R, NY-1) for Governor of New York State.

Erie County Conservative Party Chairman Ralph Lorigo, Esq, said, “One party rule in New York State has been disastrous for Erie County. The New York city liberal agenda has been pushing New York families out of our state at an unprecedented rate. We are in desperate need of new leadership in Albany and Lee Zeldin can deliver a newer, better and brighter future for New York. Lee Zeldin is fighting for a rational economic policy in New York that promotes growth and doesn’t drive our residents away. This is in sharp contrast with Andrew Cuomo’s tax and spend policies that have been damaging our community for over a decade.”

To date, the Suffolk, Onondaga, Orange, Rockland, Westchester and Erie County Conservative Parties have endorsed Congressman Lee Zeldin, representing 34% of the New York State Conservative Party’s weighted gubernatorial vote. Congressman Zeldin needs to surpass 50% to become the official designee of the Conservative Party for Governor.

Tompkins County Republican Party Endorses Congressman Lee Zeldin for Governor

PRESS RELEASE

NEW YORK – Today, the Tompkins County Republican Party endorsed Congressman Lee Zeldin (R, NY-1) for Governor of New York State.

Tompkins County Republican Party Chairman Mike Sigler said, “Lee is a New Yorker.  He was born here, graduated from high school on Long Island and from the State University of New York and from Albany Law. It seems like the only time he’s been out of New York is to fight for his country in Iraq and to fight for his constituents in Washington. He’s served in the New York Senate too. He’s raising his family here. His life is a testament to his commitment to the Empire State.

“Lee has deep roots on Long Island, but has already committed to spending a lot of the next 19 months in Upstate New York. We need someone who can bridge the Upstate/Downstate divide and represent all New Yorkers. Lee is that candidate. George Pataki was able to beat a three term Cuomo and Mario Cuomo didn’t try to cover up a decision on nursing homes that led to the deaths of thousands of seniors. Mario Cuomo didn’t give his family and friends preferential treatment with Covid 19 tests, and he was not accused by at least nine women of making unwelcome sexual advances as Governor. Andrew Cuomo on the other hand has.  Andrew Cuomo has had every opportunity to do the right thing, but has decided to wait it out in the hopes the scandals will evaporate.

“I hope voters will ask, is New York better, both Upstate and Downstate, after 12 years of Andrew Cuomo? The answer is clearly no. He’s a tireless worker. We’ll need that energy with all of the problems, from political favoritism to politicians being frivolous with your tax dollars, now plaguing Albany.”

To date, the Suffolk, Nassau, Monroe, Ontario, Tioga, Madison, Oneida, Broome, Schenectady, Allegany, Steuben, Livingston, Wayne, Yates, Seneca, Schuyler, Orleans, Cayuga and Tompkins County Republican Party Chairs have endorsed Congressman Lee Zeldin, representing 38% of the New York State GOP’s weighted gubernatorial vote. Congressman Zeldin needs to surpass 50% to become the endorsed Republican Party candidate for Governor.

Lee led the successful efforts to repeal the Saltwater Fishing License Fee and create the PFC Joseph Dwyer Program, a statewide program in New York to help our returning veterans cope with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). Lee also wrote the law that protects our fallen veterans and their families from protests at military burials.
Lee was then elected to the United States Congress in 2014, representing New York’s First Congressional District, and quickly became a leading voice in America on top local, domestic and foreign policy issues.
Lee has secured many key victories for Long Island, which have included among many other successes:
Saving Plum Island, by securing the repeal of a 2008 federal law requiring the island to be sold off to the highest bidder. He also secured funding to repair the historic Plum Island Lighthouse and funding necessary to remediate environmental concerns on the island.
  • Delivering a $2 billion Electron Ion Collider project to Brookhaven National Lab.
  • Securing $8.3 billion in much needed funding to support treatment, enforcement, and prevention for those affected by the heroin and opioid abuse crisis.
  • Working with the Army Corps of Engineers to protect our coastlines, advancing the ambitious $1.5 billion Fire Island to Montauk Point project, in addition to several other vital projects on the north and south shores of Long Island.
  • Co-Chairing the Long Island Sound Caucus and delivering vast quantities of funding for the Long Island Sound Program, National Estuary Program and SeaGrant.
  • Introducing and passing into law his Adult Day Health Care legislation for disabled veterans and opening a new health care clinic for East End veterans.
  • Co-authoring a bipartisan resolution (H.Res. 246) that passed the House opposing the anti-Israel and anti-Semitic Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions movement.
  • Successfully resolving over 17,000 constituent cases in favor of NY-1 residents.
One of only two Jewish Republicans in Congress, Lee co-chairs the House Republican Israel Caucus, and serves on the House Foreign Affairs Committee and Financial Services Committee. He also serves on four House Subcommittees.
Lee and his wife, Diana, reside in Shirley with their twin fourteen-year old daughters, Mikayla and Arianna.

Westchester, Rockland and Orange County Conservative Parties Endorse Congressman Lee Zeldin for Governor

PRESS RELEASE

NEW YORK – Today, the Westchester, Rockland and Orange County Conservative Parties endorsed Congressman Lee Zeldin (R, NY-1) for Governor of New York State.

Westchester Conservative Party Chairman Hugh Fox, Jr. said, “Radical liberal policies like cashless bail, and massive tax hikes promoted by Andrew Cuomo have hurt our community, making it less safe and less affordable. Lee Zeldin supports law enforcement who protect our communities every day, and has worked to put more money in New Yorker’s pockets. In the short time period since he launched his campaign, I have seen great enthusiasm around Lee’s candidacy, and believe he has what it takes to be the next Governor of our state.”

Rockland County Conservative Party Chairman Simeon Naemit said“Congressman Lee Zeldin has consistently delivered results for New York, and will help save our state. Lee has fought the ‘defund the police’ movement and will make sure residents aren’t forced out of their homes by New York’s high taxes. Cuomo has got to go, and Lee Zeldin is the best choice for the job.”

Orange County Conservative Party Chairman John DeLessio said, “New York is at a turning point and voters across the state have a choice to make. A scandal covered administration that promotes horrible policy that makes working families struggle and our communities less safe, or a Governor who will get our economy back on track, support our law enforcement, and lead New York by example. The choice is clear for the voters of Orange County, Lee Zeldin for Governor. Lee Zeldin has what it takes to bring our state’s economy back and better than ever before. He will support our law enforcement, cut taxes and help to save our state. The Orange County Conservative committee is behind him 100%.”

To date, the Suffolk, Onondaga, Orange, Rockland and Westchester County Conservative Parties have endorsed Congressman Lee Zeldin, representing 23% of the New York State Conservative Party’s weighted gubernatorial vote. Congressman Zeldin needs to surpass 50% to become the official designee of the Conservative Party for Governor.

Cayuga County Conservative Party Leadership Endorses Congressman Lee Zeldin for Governor

PRESS RELEASE

NEW YORK – Today, Cayuga County Conservative Party Chairman David Pappert, Vice Chairman Andrew Sheridan, Treasurer Rick Gagliardi and Secretary Kathy Malenick endorsed Congressman Lee Zeldin (R, NY-1) for Governor of New York State and issued the following statement:

“We are making these endorsements now, because the upcoming race for Governor is crucial. For decades outrageous taxing, spending, and borrowing have driven New Yorkers from their homes to lower tax states. Now, with single party control, the Democratic majority has added shocking social policies into the mix, including extremely dangerous reductions in the use of cash bail, and efforts to defund police departments. At the same time they work to allow serious criminals to remain on the street, the Democratic majority does everything possible to limit gun ownership and carry rights for law abiding citizens. Democrats have also implemented heinous abortion laws demonstrating outright hostility to the rights of the unborn.

“At the head of this single party mess sits Andrew Cuomo, a man who ordered Nursing Homes to accept COVID-19 positive residents, likely causing many thousands of preventable deaths,  then covering up the deadly results of his order. Add to this his reprehensible personal conduct towards women and staffers and it is easy to see why New York State government is viewed as a joke.

“This must change.

“The most effective way to make this change is by electing Congressman Lee Zeldin as our next Governor. Lee Zeldin is a combat veteran, an accomplished Congressman, and a family man who holds himself to the highest ethical standards. Lee Zeldin is Pro-Life, Pro-Second Amendment, Pro-Law Enforcement, and has the ability to work across the aisle to get common sense reforms working for New York. Very importantly Congressman Zeldin is a proven fund-raiser, and winner, who can make the change New York needs happen.

“We are proud to endorse Lee Zeldin for Governor of New York, and encourage all New Yorkers who know we need a change, to Stand With Lee.”
