About Lee Zeldin
Lee Zeldin was born and raised on Long Island. He grew up in Suffolk County and graduated from William Floyd High School in Mastic Beach, where his identical twin daughters attend school today. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the State University of New York at Albany and then his law degree from Albany Law School, becoming New York’s youngest attorney at the time at the age of 23.
Lee spent four years on Active Duty with the U.S. Army after completing ROTC and served in different capacities, including as a Military Intelligence Officer, Prosecutor, and Military Magistrate. In the summer of 2006, while assigned to the Army’s elite 82nd Airborne Division, Lee deployed to Iraq with an infantry battalion of fellow paratroopers in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
In 2007, Lee returned to Suffolk County with his family. It was at this time that Lee transitioned from Active Duty to the Army Reserve, where he currently serves with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.
In 2008, Lee established a successful law practice in Smithtown, NY. Elected to the New York State Senate two years later, in 2010, Lee’s been working hard every day since to keep the promises he made to the hard-working families he represents.
In the State Senate, Lee successfully fought to repeal the MTA Payroll Tax for 80 percent of employers, a job killing tax that was hurting small businesses. Lee led the successful efforts to repeal the Saltwater Fishing License Fee and create the PFC Joseph Dwyer Program, a statewide program in New York to help our returning veterans cope with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). Lee also wrote the law that protects our fallen veterans and their families from protests at military burials.

Lee Zeldin was born and raised on Long Island. He grew up in Suffolk County and graduated from William Floyd High School in Mastic Beach, where his identical twin daughters attend school today. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the State University of New York at Albany and then his law degree from Albany Law School, becoming New York’s youngest attorney at the time at the age of 23.
Lee spent four years on Active Duty with the U.S. Army after completing ROTC and served in different capacities, including as a Military Intelligence Officer, Prosecutor, and Military Magistrate. Congressman Lee Zeldin Finishes Up Sixth Campaign Trip Since Announcing His Bid for Governor

NEW YORK – On Saturday, May 15, 2021 and Sunday, May 16, 2021, Congressman Lee Zeldin (R, NY-1) visited Orange, Westchester and Queens Counties as he rounded out his sixth campaign trip since announcing his bid for Governor.

On Saturday, May 15th, Congressman Zeldin started off the day in Orange County addressing Conservative Party leadership from across the State of New York in Monroe to highlight his vision for the future of our state.

Following Monroe, Congressman Zeldin joined local elected officials, residents and small business owners at Emerald Point in Greenwood Lakes.

For his final stop in Orange County, Congressman Zeldin headed to Yesterdays Irish Pub in Warwick to hear from local residents about how they’re reaching their breaking point and their passion to save our state.

After spending the night in Westchester after visiting with local small business owners, Congressman Zeldin stopped by the historic Miller House in White Plains on Sunday, May 16th, which served as the headquarters for then-General George Washington during the Battle of White Plains.

Congressman Zeldin finished off the day in Cambria Heights, Queens, where he joined Rabbi Motti Grossbaum at Ohel Chabad Lubavitch prior to the start of Shavuot to visit the grave of the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, to pray for peace in Israel, especially in light of the recent and continued attacks on the Jewish State.

NEW YORK – Today, Congressman Lee Zeldin (R, NY-1) issued the following statement after the release of Governor Andrew Cuomo’s tax returns, which revealed he made $5.12 million for his book deal:

“Andrew Cuomo’s tax returns quantify what New Yorkers already knew – while New Yorkers suffered financially, emotionally and physically, Cuomo was busy padding his own pockets and ego, collecting over $5 million in a self-congratulatory book deal about his supposed COVID-19 ‘leadership’. While he lied to the public saying he didn’t have time to release the data on the true consequences of his fatally flawed nursing home order, he found plenty of time for self-profit and self-praise regarding his handling of the pandemic. Now, he is also under investigation for allegedly using his taxpayer-funded staff to help write the book. It is abundantly clear to New Yorkers why we need to take control of our destiny, save our state and get Cuomo out of office.”
